About The Woodsman

From a family of six children three boys and three girls, I am the middle of the boys. As a son of an electrician I kept up with the trade of my father. I started working with him at the age of six (more often gopher and sometimes in the way) to the age of sixteen. I had a blast working with him, and also had an opportunity that most people didn't  and still don't get a chance to do, he taught me a trade as well as became my best friend. We enjoyed most of the father son doings like sports, Cub and Boy Scouts, my first baseball game Braves vs. Boston, outdoor lifestyles and first driving experience on a major highway at the age of thirteen (Oops! Sorry mom you weren't supposed to know)  Today I am an electrician by
day with gophers.... Excuse me I mean helpers of my own. Due to today's child labor laws, insurance's and the lack of enthusiasm by the younger generation of (I want big money now! The electrical trade seems to be an open market for those who want to learn and experience a field they can go anywhere with. My job description involves service repairs; new home construction custom and rep. homes. Remodel restoration and additions. All aspects of commercial with some industrial wiring and repair. Electrical service changes and service trouble calls are still my favorite duties, you get a sense of job well done when you see a customers face go from worry to relaxation when an electrical situation has been repaired. Another is looking at children's faces when you get onto a job, repair the electrical problem in the nick of time for their favorite cartoon show. (See National Electrical Code. Then there are these metallic creatures with silicon guts. Octopus legs made of cords and wire taking in all the input you can give it. With one big eye showing you everything you did and need to do, most of the time a very efficient creature fast for the most part but vindictive at times when the smallest of all mistakes occur. (Ding) You have performed an illegal something or another now it is time to crash Basically it is telling you later suckers…. Computers are the way into the future; this we all know is true. Faster, more reliable larger hard disk storage more memory, communications so quick that before to long we will be talking with ourselves around the world while we are sitting here at our desks. (WOW! This is where my nightly vocation comes into play. Repair, upgrades and custom building. “When the legs wear out, the knees buckle and the back gives up to the pains of ladder climbing and constant bending, I will still have my computer, desk and work bench to carry me through . . .
Don't Give Up . . . Don't Give In. . .”

About The Woodsman’s Forest

It is funny how time can fly when you are having fun. I have built and re-built this site so many times over the years. The Woodsman’s Forest has seen the days of BBS or Bulletin Board Services that you dialed into with a 9.6 to 14.4 baud modem and a software like Telex and before Al Gore invented the internet (I still trip over that statement) and the internet of today, but it has always been a form of sub domain or an ISP free user domain. Now today there is no http://www.whatever.com forward slashed in front of it nor thewoodsmansforest. In front of a domain name anymore. It has been the mid 1980’s when www.gilbertsonenterprises.com with the sub domain thewoodsmansforest were born on the internet and felt like a lifetime to see it reborn as www.woodsmansforest.com. But since the conception of both it only seemed like the recent past rather than 20 years that have passed. The internet itself has gone through some pretty remarkable changes and life as we knew it then is a major beltline of today’s technology. It is more than a information highway, it is the World Wide Web.
